A window pane is one single piece of glass within a window frame.

A pane is one individual piece of glass in a window. For example, a sliding window usually has two panes, a fixed pane and a sliding pane.

A glass door is also counted as a single pane. In the provided examples, we show how to count a typical sliding window, as well as a glass door.
